CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT PROGRAMME (CPP)Checkpoint is an innovative curriculum and diagnostic testing service. It is designed to help students learn and to asses their abilities. Checkpoint is ideal for students who will be taking IGCSE (International General Certificate Of Secondary Education) courses as the exams are good predictors of future examinations grades. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (IGCSE) The IGCSE examination was developed specifically for students in international programs who will benefit from: - Certification for international and local universities - An opportunity for incorporating coursework as part of the assessment procedure - An extensive range of syllabi including for first, second and other languages IGCSE also provides an excellent foundation for AS and A levels, the North American Advanced Placement Test. IGCSE exams are available in an extensive range of subjects covering the whole curriculum. Students usually follow several subjects, depending on their requirements, interest and abilities. Students typically take three or six core subjects simultaneously. It may be appropriate for some students to take their examinations over two sessions – June and November. The results from the June session will be issued in August and results from November session are issued at the end of January. Most of syllabi demand the ability to recall basic information and principles, but “higher skills” are also needed to be developed, such as problem solving or the demonstration of knowledge and understanding. The Core subjects are: - English - Mathematics - Science - Mandarin - Information and Communication Technology The other Non-core subjects are: - Art Design - Religion - Mandarin - Physical Education - Character Building - Bahasa Indonesia/Indonesian Studies - Personal Project - Radio Broadcasting
