CAMPUS – BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES

Hope International School, The Bellezza Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, is designed and maintained to create the best possible learning-teaching-working environment for all of our students, teachers and staff.   The facilities are first class and security is of paramount importance.   The atmosphere is warm, friendly and child-centered.  Importantly, the school being situated in the upper floors of The Bellezza Permata Hijau Arcade, means that the students are well up out of the heat, noise and air pollution that sometimes bothers Jakartans.  In terms of security, Hope International School, The Bellezza Permata Hijau, has a double-layered arrangement, meaning essentially that we have twice the amount of security parents would find in a typical international school within Jakarta and its surrounds.  At the practical level that means parents will find security in the basement, on all floors of the Bellezza as well as inside of the school itself.  Thus, Bellezza provides security which protects out students, parents, teachers, staff and visitors and then Hope International School, also provides its own team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated team of security specialists. 

New State-of-the-Art facilities:

We have our own Hope International School Broadcasting Radio Station in connection with Heartline FM, Lippo Karawaci. That station is already broadcasting live to Jakarta and its surrounds.  Presently our Secondary students access that station as part of their studies in communication. However, with the advent of Hope International College, those students will also have access to the station. In the near future we are planning to have all students from Year 1 to Year 12 using the station in order to maximize the benefit for the development of their personal confidence and speaking skills across an array of languages, especially English.

Technology:

Presently we have an outstanding, state-of-the-art ICT laboratory with a super-fast internet connection and an over-head digital projector for whole-class teacher whilst each student works with his/her own networked computer. In the near future, all of our classrooms will also be networked, as is the accepted standard in all top western schools.  Pupils are also encouraged to use technology in all subject areas providing them with the skills and confidence to use new technology and information sources independently. There is also a room equipped with an interactive whiteboard to serve as a top of the line teaching aid.

Science Laboratory:

There is currently one specialist laboratory for all three science disciplines: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.  Presently plans are underway to build a separate physics lab.  In the near future, each discipline will have its own laboratory. The laboratories are fully-equipped with the latest scientific equipment, including microscopes, Bunsen burners connected to a mains gas supply system and a Fume Cabinet. Pupils frequently use these labs to gain a real-life, hands-on perspective to the mysteries of the scientific world.  Students are encouraged to understand the natural world in which they live through that inquiry-based learning pedagogy.

Hope International School, The Bellezza Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, as excellent outdoor play areas, both at ground level and above-ground level.  It also has a beautiful, safety-first, five-star swimming pool which caters for students of all ages, where we teach water-safety as well as swimming.  Two, full-size, professionally-surfaced tennis courts are on-site. Off-site we have permanent access to rented facilities for basketball, badminton, volleyball, Futsal and soccer. On-site we have two full-sized, professional-standard table-tennis tables in their own air-conditioned room.

Library:

  There is one spacious library in the school with over 3000 books in stock.  Eventually, the library will be fitted with a desktop computer. Fifteen (15) separate study corrals are available to all pupils as well as staff and parents.  The library hours are from 08.00 to 16.00 and it is never locked, always having personnel in place.  Students can become ‘friends of the library’ by donating books to it – something which we encourage as part of an overall approach to take joint responsibility for the development of a reading culture at Hope International School, The Bellezza Permata Hijau, South Jakarta.
